At the University of New Haven, we are committed to creating a community of respect, civility, and honor. The health and safety of our community members are a top priority. In line with this mission, we enforce Title IX of the Education Amendment of 1972, which prohibits acts of sexual misconduct (sexual harassment, sexual assault, and/or sexual exploitation), intimate partner violence (dating violence and domestic violence), and stalking at educational institutions. Acts of sexual misconduct and intimate partner violence are a violation of University of New Haven policy and state law. We encourage all campus community members to report any incidents of sexual misconduct, intimate partner violence, or stalking and/or to utilize the support and advocacy services available.

Do not use this site to report events presenting an immediate threat to life or property. Reports submitted through this service may not receive an immediate response. If you require emergency assistance, please contact the University of New Haven Police Department at (203) 932-7070 or dial 911.

The Title IX Office will review reports submitted through this form following the University of New Haven’s Sexual Harassment & Misconduct Policy.

University disciplinary records are protected by a federal privacy law called the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and may not be disclosed without written authorization.

NOTE: Intentionally creating a false report violates the University of New Haven’s Student Code of Conduct and could result in disciplinary action.

Mandated Reporters

All employees, including faculty, staff, and administrators, are mandated reporters, except for those employees with confidentiality based on their official campus role (health providers, professional counselors, and pastoral counselors). This means that when someone reports or discloses information about or they observe anything under the sexual harassment or misconduct umbrella, the University employee is required to report this to the University’s Title IX Coordinator.

Confidentiality

You can make a confidential report to employees of on- and off-campus counseling services centers, health service providers, clergy, and local 24-hour hotline staff members of sexual assault crisis services and domestic violence services (see details and contact information in the On- and Off-Campus Resources section). All other employees are mandated reporters as stated above.
