Students will learn about interior design by immersing themselves in a hands-on creative experience. Participants will learn about the built environment in engaging workshops focused on research, sketching, drafting, model-making, and graphic presentation of ideas.

Academy Takeaways
  • High school students will be introduced to the design and creative process in the field of interior design.
  • Students will gain insight regarding what a career in interior design looks like, allowing them to make an informed choice about their own personal career paths.
  • Students will develop both technical and creative work to include in a design portfolio for college applications.
  • Participants who complete the Interior Design Summer Youth Academy will now be automatically guaranteed the minimum portfolio scholarship if they apply and are accepted to the Interior Design program following participation.
Requirements

Students must be completing a grade, 9-12th, in the 2026-27 academic year.
